Discover Your skin type

The best skin care treatments for your individual needs are greatly determined by your skin type and your genetics. What products give your skin a flawless glow depends on whether your skin is dry, oinly or normal. Some skin problems such as deep lines, stretch marks and scars may require a dermatologist's evaluation. But once can do a lot on your own to improve your skin.
Quick Steps to determing skin type
step 1
cleanse and dry your face and leave it bare for 2 hours.
step 2
press a piece of blotting paper against your nose.
- if there is no oil, tightness or flakes, your skin is normal.
- if there is no oil but your skin feels tight or flaky then you have dry skin
- if there is oil on your nose and cheeks, you have oily skin.
- if you have oil on your nose but not your cheeks, then you have combination skin.
Dry Skin

- Semblance: Dry skin is prone to cracking easily , raising the likelihood of infection and premature wrinkling.
- How to manage : Stay Hydrated— avoid alcohol-heavy skin products, and for added benefit use a moisturizer. Use an oil-free brand if in fear that overkill will cause greasiness.
Normal Skin
- Semblance: Neither here nor there, the skin isn't dry or greasy but in-between.
- How to manage: Do what feels right. Treat it "normally" — use whatever non-soap cleanser and other products that feel right and don't disturb the healthy balance. Moisturizing is not a requirement — feel free if your skin feels dry.
Oily Skin

- Semblance: Oily skin is the curse of a pimple-plagued teen, but this greasy, sometimes shiny skin type can become a blessing as you age because it keeps you younger-looking than your dry-skinned contemporaries.
- How to manage Wash it more than once a day — as many times as you feel the need. Skin care products with alcohol will make the skin less oily.
Combination Skin
- Semblance: Some areas are oily — often the forehead, nose and chin — while others, such as your cheeks, are normal to dry.
- How to manage: Wash the oily areas, the so-called T-zone, at least twice a day with a non-drying cleanser.
